Vote No on Prop 26 (CA): Stop the "Polluter Protection Initiative"

Prop 26 (CA) is funded by oil and tobacco companies and is aimed at doing away with fees on their products.  This proposition could also arguably affect municipalities' ability to enact fees on disposable bags! From the "No on Prop 26" website:

Most of California’s environmental programs are funded by regulatory fees.  If Prop. 26 passes, many activities, such as research into the environmental or health impacts of pollution would be in jeopardy.  Under Prop. 26, fees that pay for the public costs of pollution or that provide public benefits, would become “taxes,” subject to a politically impossible two-thirds supermajority vote. That’s the heart of the pollution protection scheme.
