Supervisor Charles McGlashan dies of heart attack at 49, Marin County loses a great environmental leader
I've been in contact with Supervisor McGlashan's office for several years regarding Marin County's plastic bag ordinance. Supervisor McGlashan struck me as a thoughtful yet fearless environmental leader, and I was inspired by his speech at a recent plastic bag hearing where he saw the hundreds of pages of plastics industry's objections for what they were - "bunk." He will be missed. Marin County's plastic bag ordinance was passed in late January and Marin was sued by the Save the Plastic Bag Coalition.
